Computer Science Department , Sebha University

The Department of Computer Science was established in 1985 at Sebha University, Libya. The main objective of the establishment of this department was to produce computer scientists

and Information Technology personnel in order to meet the growing demand for computer professionals in the country and to focus upon many challenging problems observed in the development and use of computers and computer based systems.

The department offers B.Sc. degree in Computer Science. The BSc.degree Program of the department has been highly successful. Our graduates have attained higher degrees from developed countries and are working in national and international organizations. So far we have produced largest number of computer science graduates in the country.

Objectives

Our aim is to produce dynamic young professionals for computer science and information technology disciplines by developing strong academic foundation, software engineering skills and professionalism required for rapid growth in their career & higher education while incorporating values of humanism & personal integrity.

Prepare the younger generation to become future leaders and managers for a prosperous and educated Libya, through development of their mental, moral and professional strengths.

Ensure academic excellence through quality education in disciplined and peaceful learning environments. Constantly monitor and upgrade facilities and update the curricula to keep pace with the emerging trends and technologies.
